The Cookie Fortune Project is my take on forced scarcity in the digital age. This was created as a reaction towards the late 2021 sentiment that cryptocurrencies are the key to the future that, to me, failed to take into consideration the fact that humans will always find ways to recreate class divisions. In this project, people live in a digitized reality where their bodies don't need to eat anymore, as their physical forms are being fed through tubes as they sleep. The currency they use here is not money, but cookies, designed to look like various confectioneries from our world. Despite not needing to eat, and the cookies being designed to be easily split and traded, there is still corruption and hoarding of resources, creating new class struggles. The secret recipe of the cookie curencies is hidden from the general public, so the story follows a group of revolutionaries trying to make bootleg cookies.
To add to the mystery, I formed an escape room-like exhibit around the story as you follow the protagonists' footsteps. Click the next image for the trailer:
